Jasper Garvida is delighted to announce that the venue for our SS12 Fashion Show is The Bloomsbury Hotel. This magnificent venue was designed by the renowned British architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens, and a major renovation has recently restored it to its original glory and grandeur. With a location just a few minutes’ walk from Oxford Street it offers a superbly convenient setting for our evening

Inside the listed neo-Georgian building, Old-world grandeur seamlessly merges with memorable, modern luxury and up-to-date technology, including complimentary Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel.  From the imposing entrance and excellent contemporary dining, to the modern design of its bedrooms and suites and its unique meetings and events facilities, The Bloomsbury Hotel offers impeccable hospitality, and as our previous partnerships have demonstrated it is the perfect choice to showcase the beautiful new Jasper Garvida collection.

Two cocktails have been exclusively created for the show, and will be available for guests to enjoy on the night. Named Varvara and Frizzen, they relate to the AW12’s Russian constructivist and military influences, and have been tastefully blended by the expert Mixologists at The Bloomsbury Hotel. Varvara contains Stolichnaya, Midori, lime and sugar syrup, whilst Frizzen is comprised of Stolichnaya, Angostura, lime, ginger, sugar syrup and ginger beer.  Delicious!

Jasper Garvida’s AW12 takes inspiration from Russian Constructivism. Entitled, Revolutionnaire Situation de la Forme, Jasper again departs from his trademark use of colour in favour of a muted palette brought to life in military shapes and detailing.

The collection captures the essence and beauty of the contemporary woman. Luxury fabrics include printed satin illustrating mechanical machinery mixed with soft suede and fine cashmere to create a utilitarian silhouette, spotlighting Marlene Dietrich, one of the most celebrated women of the World War era.

Here at Jasper Garvida, we like to get involved in competitions and our most recent entry is to TalentHouse, to design an outfit for Leona Lewis. Leona appeared on the UK X Factor in 2006 and become the winner of the third series. Since then Leona has become a multi-platinum selling artist, three times Grammy Award nominee and one of the most in demand singers in the world. But she now has her hands in the design realm and is inviting artists to submit an outfit design that will be created for her to wear at a major upcoming performance, which will be seen by millions.

On Friday 11th November, (this Friday) some of our Autumn/Winter 11 collection will be showcased at the British Museum alongside Grayson Perry’s Tomb of the Unknown Craftsman exhibition. The exhibition has been co-curated by stylist Zadian Smith, which has been named Play Japanese. The exhibition will be formed by a series of images and interactive installations inspired by Harajuku girls and being able to portray as many characters as possible to showcase the variety of personas that build the community. Such aspects are  taken from the goth, school girl vamp and glam looks.

In the image below our Corsaire Jacket has been featured and styled by Zadrian, with its eastern influences it works perfectly with the theme of the exhibition to authenticate the look.

On Tuesday 1^st November and Wednesday 2^nd of November Jasper Garvida’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection will be showing at a Press Day with Forward PR. This stunning collection named, `Autour D’un Point’ was inspired by Diana Vreeland for her sense of style and vigour for life.
