"Where will I sleep tonight?", 2024

Cashmere and plaster

38 x 16 x 13 cm

"Where Will I Sleep Tonight?" addresses Garvida's childhood experience of displacement and sense of not belonging. As an unplanned addition to an already large family, Jasper was often shuffled between the girls' and boys' bedrooms depending on the availability of a spare bed. This constant movement and lack of a permanent space left him feeling disconnected and out of place, longing for belonging.

The work explores these feelings of uncertainty and the emotional impact of not having a bed of his own. "Where Will I Sleep Tonight?" is both a reflection on physical displacement and an exploration of the deeper, internal sense of not quite fitting in.
